Bolognese lasagna is one of my main dishes. When I have guests for lunch and I want to be on the safe side, I prepare the Bolognese sauce and I season the pasta or I try to prepare the lasagna Bolognese as in this case, so I can prepare lunch in advance and bake at the right time. Now that the temperatures are going down, a nice first course recipe in the oven seems to me to be right. The doses that I have indicated for the preparation of lasagna are for 6 people, but also for 8 they are fine, it depends on the hunger that your guests will have … we in 6 have done away with the whole pan;) from here.

Ps I also add mozzarella to the lasagna alla bolognese even if it is not included in the original recipe.

  • Ingredients for 6 people:
  • 750 ml of tomato sauce
  • 100 gr of bacon
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 800 gr of minced meat
  • 1/2 glass of wine
  • 500 gr of egg lasagna
  • 500 gr of mozzarella
  • 300 ml of bechamel
  • 30 gr of parmesan
  • salt
  • oil
(100 ml = 3.4 fluid oz. – 100 grams = 3.5 ounces – 1 liter = 34 fluid oz. – 1 kilogram = 2.205 pounds – 100C° 212F° – 180C° 356F°)
  • preparation: 2 hours 30 min
  • cooking: 30 min
  • total: 3 hours

Method

How to make Lasagna Bolognese

Cut the mozzarella into slices and put it in the fridge to dry it.
Prepare the Bolognese sauce by browning the carrot and chopped onion in a large pot together with the diced bacon.

Add the minced meat, let it flavor in the mince then blend with the wine.
Add the tomato puree, salt, cover with a lid and cook the Bolognese sauce for 2 hours on low heat.

When the meat sauce has shrunk enough, turn off the heat and keep aside.

In the meantime, prepare the classic béchamel, melting 25 g of butter together with 25 g of flour, then add 250 ml of milk, mix and cook until it boils.
Boil the lasagna in a pan with the salted water together with a tablespoon of oil. Then lift the lasagna sheets with a foam and let them dry on a towel.

Let’s now assemble the Bolognese lasagna.

Pour a layer of bechamel into a buttered baking dish. Cover with a layer of lasagna then cover with a layer of Bolognese sauce

Spread the mozzarella slices cover with bechamel and sprinkle with grated Parmesan

Cover with another layer of lasagna and repeat the procedure.
Finally cover with the last layer of lasagna

Cover the surface of the lasagna with the ragù and the remaining béchamel and mix everything until it forms a pink sauce.
Sprinkle the lasagna bolognese with the remaining Parmesan and bake at 180 °

Cook the lasagna bolognese for 30 minutes then take them out of the oven and let them cool before cutting them into slices and serving them.
